Can I just say that the tin is really deceptive because why does it only have 20 g of matcha when it looks like it can hold twice the amount. As an usucha, I was welcomed with strong vegetal notes and a moderate umami, followed by a light sweetness. It was moderately creamy and smooth. I’ve noticed it has an ever slight bitterness that lingers alongside a medium astringency. Despite the bold notes at the beginning, it has quite a depth that was almost unseen in matchas of the same grade. If you could get past the bitterness, one can appreciate the simple complexity this blend has to offer. As a latte, the vegetal notes were muted to a level I can tolerate, umami almost concealed, sweeter and creamier thanks to the milk. I found it to be more enjoyable and palatable. Personally, I wouldn’t buy this again given that I’m not a fan of a bold matcha. It makes for a good pasalubong.
