I do find it charming that it has an eye-catching violet can that pops out from a sea of green cans. Upon opening, I was immediately greeted by a sweet grassy and floral aroma. This is a sweet and light Umami Matcha. The profile includes an initial light umami and soft sweet notes that lingers on the tongue, with subtle nuttiness, that’s combined with a balanced creaminess and smoothness. It has also some slight bitterness and minimal astringency. As a latte, I found the notes not too muted, with the sweet and umami notes still trickling down my tastebuds. I was honestly floored at how Yuzan seriously reminds me of Sayaka. If you’re a Sayaka lover, you’ll definitely enjoy a glass of Yuzan. Even though this brand deserves more recognition, I kinda want to gatekeep it.
