I was stunned at how much I love the creamy nutty notes of this matcha. In an instant, I became a nutty lover thanks to Gion Tsujiriโs Juttoku. I was instantly captivated, my opinion on nutty notes were permanently shifted. The first sip brought notes of delicate earthy umami, which slowly gave way to a subtle natural sweetness. It was also incredibly creamy, nothing less from Gion Tsujiri. But what truly stands out is its lingering sweet nutty notes. Alongside the sweet nuttiness is a touch of astringency that beautifully balances the richness and the full-bodied feel. The milk further enhances the natural creaminess of juttoku, and I absolutely enjoy every sip of it. It also intensifies the sweet, nutty notes to a level that resembles a rich hazelnut cream, an ultimate indulgence for nutty matcha lovers. Juttoku immediately took the spot as my favorite blend from Gion Tsujiri. It was almost perfect, except for its short shelf life and limited accessibility outside Japan.
